Video games emerged as a direct result of technological progress. Thus, the field of esports was born.

Electronic sports or “esports” refer to the competitive play of video games in a formal setting. Dota 2, Fortnite, and League of Legends are just a few popular esports that have been included in tournaments.

Professional athletes compete at the highest levels and make a livelihood through prize money and endorsement deals, fueling a worldwide business that includes sponsors, teams, leagues, fans, and athletes. You can also bet on your favorite teams through different sports betting websites. If you’re interested in placing a wager in Zambia, a quick Google search for sports betting zambia should lead you to betway which is one of the leading platforms of its kind in the word.

Esports is growing in popularity, and so are the sports stars who have made their fortunes in the industry. Some of the brightest stars in the world of esports are included here.

1. Faker

One of the players in the esports community that made millions of dollars from playing is Lee Sang-hyeok. The esports community knows this individual as the “Faker.” As of 2020, Faker’s League of Legends earnings is roughly $1,228,000.

Lee Sang-hyeok made his debut when he was just 17 years old. SK Telecom, the best team in Korea for electronic sports, scouted him. This youngster has been universally recognized as the finest mid-laner in the esports industry.  In the spring season, he guided his team to third place, and they ended up winning the World Championship.

To date, Faker is the only esports athlete to be on the cover of ESPN magazine.  He is one of only two players in League of Legends history to win the World Championship three times.

Despite his outstanding skills in esports, N0tail has encountered several difficulties along the way. Due to their early elimination from TI4, his European Dota 2 squad disbanded. He eventually joined many teams before striking out alongside his pal Fly.

When they first formed the team, they named it “(Monkey) Business” but later changed it to “OG.” The squad established itself as a true powerhouse by taking first place in both the Frankfurt Major and DreamLeague Season 4.
